The Free Months Are Real Money

Bizee, which traded as Incfile until the rebrand, attaches registered agent coverage to its formation packages, anywhere from a quarter to a full year according to which tier you purchase. If Bizee was already forming your Massachusetts LLC, take the included coverage. It is a genuine saving on a service the Commonwealth requires you to have from the day your certificate is accepted, and refusing free compliance is not a principle worth holding.

$149 Begins on a Date You Did Not Write Down

What follows the bundle is $149 a year for standalone service. The figure is published and Bizee is not concealing it. The trouble is structural rather than deceptive. Coverage that arrives free never trains you to watch for a bill, and a three-month window in particular goes by fast when you are opening bank accounts and chasing a first customer.

Look at the recurring cost rather than the entry cost. A Massachusetts entity carries an agent for its whole life, so the standalone rate is the number that describes the arrangement you are actually entering.

Two hundred dollars over four years, for work the statute describes identically in both columns.

Nothing on Our Side Expires

There is no included period here to run out, which is the plainest difference between the two columns. $99 buys twelve months, and the twelve months after that are also $99. Massachusetts writes the job as resident agent, and a single Statement of Change covering that agent and the resident office is what moves it, lodged with the Secretary of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Corporations Division, where electronic submission costs nothing and paper costs $25. The Commonwealth is pricing the envelope, not the decision.

Eligibility runs off M.G.L. c. 156C § 5. A Massachusetts resident may hold the role, as may a domestic corporation, or a foreign corporation carrying authority to transact business here. Any professional service you are weighing clears that bar without effort.

One sequencing rule is worth stating outright. The statement names the incoming agent, so the replacement has to be engaged before you file, and the Bizee account should stay open until the new name appears on your entity record. Appoint, file, confirm, then cancel. Nothing lapses.
